Ideas for 2009 and 2010

PROGRAM IDEAS in Print Media for our NEW ART BUILDING/CENTER

Establish SOCIAL HOURS and DEMO DAYS to expand our COMMUNITY

Consider yourself invited,
Establish a TUTORIAL SYSTEM whereby consecutive sessions could acquaint more introductory students (from other disciplines) about printmaking in order to level out playing filed in the classes (particularly Digital Printmaking and Books as Visual Language). We would like to introduce the schools of painting, drawing, photography to the art of printmaking. This art form is totally related to your craft and you should know how it is done.

Continue the ANNUAL MORE INK program with:
Exchange portfolios (starting with AU this spring)
Seminar day of show and tell
Traveling shows between the schools (AU, MICA, VCU, U of MD, Howard, Corcoran, NOVA, Montgomery College) Establish a jurying system with a professor, curator and grad student to keep level of participation high and engage students to accomplish in their work
Collaborative shared visiting artists between schools

Provide thematic advanced studio for Printmaking II-Graduate Level students

SPRING VISITING ARTIST PROGRAM for Printmaking
Bring in Professors from other Grad Programs (such a David Morrison and Bonnie Stahlecker, Anita Jung, Ruth Weisberg, Oscar Gillespie, Brad Shanks, Ke Francis, David Jones, Adelle Henderson, Duane Slick, Andy Kowslowski, etc.)

Expand WRITERS from the Creative Writing and other university programs into printmaking

Organize Summer program of workshops "dog days of printing" August, 2010

Installation and exhibition tutorial as interns to Washington D.C. area artist. Meet and work with some of the more exciting contemporary artists and see how they put shows together.
